The Place - Montrouge

Once upon a time ...

Petit Montrouge and Grand Montrouge.
Petit Montrouge, which once extended up to the Parisian Montparnasse district, was annexed under Napoleon III from a rapidly growing Paris, later becoming the 14th arrondissement.
Grand Montrouge then turned to its neighboring towns and began eating up their land. This expansion enabled it to accommodate some of the industrial companies that flourished between the two wars, such as the printing company Draeger and the landing gear manufacturer Hispano-Messier (now the Safran group)

Montrouge, the artists’ neighborhood ...

Coluche grew up there,
Robert Doisneau lived and worked there,
Nicolas de Staël ...
...and Michel Audiard rest there.

And tomorrow?

« An open, friendly, dynamic and green town, generous, attentive to all and where everyone enjoys exchanging and meeting people in the street, in our facilities or during our local events. »

Étienne Lengereau, Mayor of Montrouge.

Life Around The Place

A new urban heart is flourishing in the south of Paris.

Only 4 minutes away from Porte d’Orléans, quality housing, shops and infrastructures have already attracted many businesses/headquarters and young, active people. Life revolves around this new neighborhood and its emblematic Vache Noire shopping center.

This dynamic nature attracts great chefs like Oth Sombath, who works in his restaurant BAAN NAT, the new jewel of Thai cuisine. You can also enjoy a business lunch on the terrace of the Kitchen and Bar by Courtyard.

In 2007, La Vache Noire shopping center’s roof became an urban park, open to all. With 13,000 sqm of greenery, the roof, leveled like a natural landscape, is punctuated by solariums and plant sculptures.

Business around The Place

Many national and international companies (research institutes, medical, banking, services, telephony, etc.) have been enticed by this new and fresh urban environment that benefits from new transportation.
